Target Audience

  • HLTA's and TA's who regularly support mathematics lessons 
Objectives
  • To improve the subject knowledge of mathematics teachers so that they are able to deliver all aspects of the mathematics curriculum
  • To improve the subject knowledge of mathematics teachers so that they have a variety of approaches to a range of topics to support pupil progression
  • To improve the ability of teachers to deliver a series of teaching objectives as learning objectives and learning outcomes
Expected Outcomes
  • Teachers of mathematics are confident in their ability to deliver all aspects of the mathematics curriculum
  • Teachers of mathematics have improved subject knowledge and pedagogy
  • Teachers of mathematics use the continuum of topics to plan lessons and are able to apply a variety of different approaches to learning a topic as required by pupils
  • Teachers of mathematics are able to plan a series of lessons that engage the pupils
  • Teaching and learning improves with an improvement in pupil attainment and progress
Indicative support package timings
  • A series of half-day inputs to meet needs - £250 + travel + VAT per half day
